Let O be the orthocentre, so its coordinates become (0, 0, 0)
Let AD, BE and CF be the altitudes from A, B and C respectively
Now, as AD is perpendicular to BD, product of their slopes will be -1
Let (p, q) be the coordinates of A
As Slope of AD x Slope of BD = -1
So, Slope of BC x Slope of AO = -1
Therefore, 4p+q=0 ... (i)
Also, as CF is perpendicular to AB, product of their slopes will be -1
Slope of AB x SLope of CF = -1
Slope of AB x Slope of CO = -1
Therefore, 4p+3q=6 ... (ii)
Solving (i) and (ii), we get
p = -3/4 and q=3
Therefore A lies in the 2nd quadrant.
