The retina, inner surface of eye, is lined with light sensing cells known as rods and cones.
While rods are responsible for sensing intensity, cones are responsible for sensing colour.
There are three kinds of cones. The are red, green and blue and they are sensitive to the
respective wavelegths associated with red, green and blue colours of visible light. The graph
given below is sensityvity curve for the three kinds of cones.
It is evident from the graph that our eye is more sensitive to green color
