Answer:

Let the number of triangles be n.

 

 

For 1 triangle: Number of sticks = 2 × 1 + 1 = 3 sticks

 

 

For 2 triangles: Number of sticks = 2 × 2 + 1 = 5 sticks

 

 

Number of sticks used = 2 × n + 1
