Similar mass of aluminum means volume also same.
Let A1 be the cross section area of wire-1 and l1 is its length.
Similarly let A2 be the cross section area of wire-2 and l2 be the length of wire-2.

we have A1×l1 = A2×l2  ; if wire-1 diameter is 2 mm and wire-2 daiameter is 4 mm, then A2 = 4×A and l2 = (1/4)×l1

Let R1  be the resiatnce of wire-1 and R2 be the resistance of wire-2;

then R1 = ρ×(l1 / A1)  and  R2 = ρ×(l2 / A2) = ρ×l1 /(16 × A1) = (1/16) R1

If two wires are connected in series means cureent passing through them is same.
Heating effect is due to power diissipation i2R, hence for same current heating effect is proportional to resistane.

Since resistance of wire-1 is 16 times of that of wire-2, heat produced in wire-1 is 16 times that of wire-2
