CBSE Class 10 Answered

Resistance of a metal wire of length 1m is 26omega at 20 to the power of 0 space end exponentC. If the diameter of the wire is 0.3 mm, what will be the resistivity of the metal at that temperature?

Resistance of a material is given by
R = ρ×(l/A)
Where
R is the resistance
ρ is the resistivity of the material
l is the length of the wire
A is the cross section area
So ρ = (R×A)/l
A = πr^2 = π×0.15×0.15 × 10^-6 = 225π × 10^-12
Putting all the value we get
Resistivity =  14.137 × 10^-9 Ωm
