Answer:
Figure shows the various forces acting on the cart and the force F exerted by horse.
 
friction force f is given by f = μN , where μ is the friction coefficient, N is the normal reaction force.
 
we have, f = 0.2×1500×10 = 3000 N
 
By newtons law for the combined system of horse and cart, we have   F - f = (mC + mh )×a ..............(1)
where mC and mh are mass of cart and horse respectively and a is acceleration of the system.
 
by substituting the relevant values in eqn.(1),  F - 3000 = (1500+500)×1 , we get F = 5000 N
