Answer:
If we consider the contact force is the resultant R of Normal reaction force N and friction force f,
then as shown in figure, the angle θ made by resultant R with vertical is given by,
 
tanθ = (μmg) / mg = μ 
 
we are given that frictin force f is 3 N, hence   f = μ×m×g = 3 Newton , hence μ = 3/(0.4×10) = 0.75
 
θ = tan-1(0.75) = 37º
 
magnitude R = begin mathsize 12px style square root of 3 squared plus 4 squared end root space equals space 5 space N end style
