qus 1- show me by fig. how the no. of surfaces of cone is 2
qus 2 - The height of a solid cone is 12 cm and the area of the circular base is 64sq. cm. a plane parallel to the base of the cone cuts through the cone 9cm above the vertex of the cone, show that area of the base of the new cone so formed is 36sq.cm.
qus 3 - If a cone is cut into two parts by a horizontal plane passing through the mid point of its axis, show that the ratio of the volumes of upper and lower part is 1:7.

Expert Answer
The shaded portion denotes the base area of the cone.
The unshaded portion denotes the curved surface area of the cone.
Thus there are 2 surfaces of a cone.
