Question - 1  :

A stream of water flowing horizontally with a speed of 15 m/s gashes out of a tube of cross sectional area   10^-2 m^2 and hits a nearby vertical wall. Find the force exerted on the wall by the impact of water.  Assume that water does not rebound from the wall. Take density of water to be 1 X 10^3 kg m^-3.

where ρ is density of water, v is the speed of water and A area of cross section of the hose pipe.
 
force = 0.5×1000×15×15×0.01  = 1125 N
