Let x and y be the amount of almonds and cashew kernels in gms.

x + y = 700 ..................(1)

Almond cost = Rs. 288/kg = Rs. 288/1000gm = Rs. 0.288/gm

and cashew kernels = Rs 0.336/gm

0.288x + 0.336y = 216.........(2)

Now,

(2) - 0.288(1) gives,

0.336y - 0.288y = 216 - 0.288(700)

y = 300.

and x = 400.

It contains 400 gm almonds and 300 gm cashew kernels.
