How is a sample of an n-type semiconductor electrically neutral through it has an excess of negative charge carriers?
Dear Student,
Please restrict yourselves to one question per query.
- How is a sample of an n-type semiconductor electrically neutral through it has an excess of negative charge carriers?
- Ptype or n type semiconductor are formed by adding neutral atoms of another element. As these atom replace the parent atoms, the excess charge carriers appear due to weak bonds between the electrons and nucleus.
The number of charge carriers increase in proportion in the comparison to the pure semiconductor. The total cahrge remains zero
