1.As we know light is a form energy and in light energy is distributed in packets or packages.  This packages of energy is called photon.
When these packets of energy or photon falls on a metallic surface emission of electrons started from surface this phenomenon is known as photoelectric effect. 
 
2. It is known P1+P2= 5
Value of P1= 1/0.15= 6.67D
Putting this value in first equation 
P2= 5-6.67=  -1.67 D (convex lens) 
So f2 =  -1/1.67= 0.56m
