The difference between subsidiary and affiliated company in the context of MNCs can be made only based on the ownership of the parent company with smaller companies. In the case of subsidiary companies, the majority of the stocks of subsidiary company are controlled by the parent company. On the otherhand, the affiliated company’s only minor stocks are controlled by the parent company.
