Answer:
In path 1 weight (mg) of body dominates so it will try to make stick the body to the surface.
But in path 2 normal reaction from surface dominates. If normal force will dominates the body will try to leave the surface . So to for motion to be smooth velocity in this case must be low other wise body will leave the contact.
