Let A be the set of people read English newspaper and B be the set of people read Hindi newspaper.
According to the question,
N = 5000, n(A) = 2250, n(B) = 1750, n(A ∩ B) = 875
Using
n(A υ B) = n(A) + n(B) -  n(A ∩ B)
We get n(A υ B) = 3125
The people who neither read English nor Hindi = 5000 - 3125 = 1875
People who read only English newspaper = 2250 - 875 = 1375
