Private Quelch, or 'Professor' as he was called by everyone, was a man who had a perpetual enthusiasm of showing off his knowledge wherever he could. It was almost like self-promotion, and it did not go down very well with his seniors. When Professor interrupted Corporate Turnball during one of the sessions and corrected him, the latter took some sort of revenge on him by assigning Private Quelch permanent cookhouse duties. He deserved this punishment because his habit of interrupting every conversation and training sessions was his flaw and needed rectification. Corporate Turnball must have hoped that the punishment will teach Private Quelch a good lesson.
