ΔPRS and ΔPRX are on the same base PR and between the same parallels as PR is parallel to SX.

So, ar(ΔPRS) = ar(ΔPRX)

On adding ar(ΔPQR) to both sides, we get

ar(ΔPRX) + ar(ΔPQR) = ar(ΔPRS) + ar(ΔPQR)

ar(ΔPQX) = ar(quad. PQRS)
