CBSE Class 12-science Answered

Power = current square into resistance hence p is directly proportional to r also Power =voltage square upon resistance so p is inversely proportional to r but how power can be both directly and inversely proportional to resistance?

Dear student,

we dont apply the two formulas simultaneously ...when current is constant we apply p=i^2r ..hence directly proportional..and when potential constant..we apply p=v^2/r..giving inverse relation with r.
hope this helps.
Thanking you
