Theoretical explanation: A pipe closed at one end has only odd harmonics generated in it. So, there are gaps in frequencies generated in the pipe.

Whereas for the pipe open at both ends, all the harmonics are generated. Hence, there is a continuous frequency generation in this pipe.

So, we can conclude that a pipe open at both ends will produce a nice harmonic music with a pleasant sound and the closed tube does not.

For mathematical explanation: Refer the NCERT textbook part II. It has details as to which harmonics are generated.
