Expert Answer
1)
Cu2S + O2 → 2Cu + SO2
From the above reaction,
1 mole of Cu2S produces 2 moles of copper.
Then 0.6 moles of Cu2S produces 1.2 moles of copper.
1 mole of copper is 63.55 g
1.2 moles of copper is 76.26 g.
Thus, the mass of copper formed is 76.26 g from 0.6 moles of Cu2S.
2)
According to stoichiometry,
1 mole of Zn will give 2 moles of HCl
and, 0.2 mole of Zn is given.
Hence, moles of HCl will be 0.2/2=0.1 moles of HCl
The number of Moles=wt/mol. wt
0.1=wt of HCl/Mol.wt of HCl
0.1=wt of HCl/36.5
wt of HCl =3.65 g
and, 60% of HCl is=2.19 g
We know that,
1 mole of gas has 22.4 L Volume
Here,
According to stoichiometry,
1 mole of Zn will give 1 mole of H2
Hence, 2 moles of H2
means, 0.2 X 22.4 L=4.48 L of H2
