Expert Answer
Let f(x) = x3 - 2x2 -6x +9find
put x= 1 and we find f(1)≠ 0, hence (x-1) is not a factor
put x = -1 , we find f(-1) ≠ 0, hence (x+1) is nota factor
like this we try for x= 2, and x=-2, we will find (x+2) and (x-2) are not factor
put x = 3 , we find f(3) = 0, hence (x-3) is a factor
if we divide f(x) by (x-3), we get (x2 +x -3) is a quotient
(x2 +x -3) is quadratic equation and is factorised as
