The main current in the circuit is 0.25A
(1) potential difference across 4Ω resistor is 4×0.25 = 1 V
 
Total resistance in the circuit = 2/0.25 = 8Ω.
 
then effective resistance of parallel combination is = 8-(4+3) = 1Ω.
if 2 Ω parallel to R Ω means,
begin mathsize 12px style 1 over R plus 1 half equals 1 space semicolon space h e n c e space R space equals 2 space capital omega end style
(2) potential difference across resistors of parallel combination is 1×0.25 = 0.25 V
 
(3) potentila difference across internal resistance is 3×0.25 = 0.75 V
 
(4) value of resistance R is 2 Ω
