Expert Answer
Magnetic moment of the current carrying coil, μ = nIA , where n is number of turns, I is current in the coil and A is area of the coil.
hence μ = 10×5× (22/7)×0.07×0.07 = 0.77 Amp-turns m2
As shown in figure, direction of magnetic moment is along z-direction as per right-hand rule ( thumb shows magnetic field direction, curling of fingers shows the current direction).
when the external magnetic field acts on the x-direction, magnetic moment will try to align along the magnetic field hence rotate in in X-Z plane and tend to align with x-axis. Position of magnetic moment at equilibrium depends on the strength of magnetic field.
