example
ax plus by plus straight c equals 0
then space bring space it space in
straight y equals mx plus straight c space form
so space ax plus by plus straight c equals 0 space becomes
straight y equals fraction numerator negative straight a over denominator straight b end fraction straight x minus straight c over straight b
slope equals straight m equals fraction numerator negative straight a over denominator straight b end fraction
if space you space have space two space points space on space the space line
then
slope equals fraction numerator difference space of space straight y space co minus ordinates over denominator difference space of space straight x space co minus ordinates end fraction end style
