Answer:
The ball, which is thrown vertically reaches the roof of 100 m height.
From this hint, first we should calculate what is the initial speed u of the ball when it is thrown vertically from ground level.
 
0 = u2 - 2×9.8×100 ;  hence u = 44.27 m/s
 
let both the balls meet at a height h metre from ground level. Both the balls have travelled equal time t seonds  before meeting.
 
h = 44.27×t - (1/2)×9.8×t2 = 44.27×t - 4.9×t2 .................(1)
 
100-h = (1/2)×9.8×t2 = 4.9×t2 .................(2)
 
let us substitute 4.9×tin (1) from (2) , the we have ;  h = 44.27×t-100+h .........(3)
 
from  (3), we get t = 100/44.27 = 2.26 s
 
we get h from (2), h = 100-(4.9×t2) = 100 - (4.9×2.26×2.26) = 75 m
