workdone to move a test chrage from one point to another point in electric field equals the difference of electrical potential energy.
(a) From the surface of shell to the inerior, through small hole.
Potential energy of a charged sperical shell at apoint on surface and at any interior point of shell is same.
Hence no difference in potential energy and workdone is zero.
(b) from one point on surface to another point on surface.
At any point of the surface of charged spherical shell, potential energy is same.
Hence no difference in potential energy and workdone is zero.
(c) from one point to another point inside the shell.
All the points inside the spherical shell has same poteinal energy. Hence no difference in potential energy and workdone is zero.
(d) from any point p ouside the shell.... and back to same point P.
Since the starting point and ending point are same, no difference in potential energy and workdone is zero.
It does not matter whether shell is conductor or not
