Answer:
WE have lens makers formula :- P = 1/f = (μ-1) [ (1/R1) - (1/R2) ] .....................(1)
where P is power of lens if focal length f is expressed in metre, μ is refractive index of material and Rs are radii of curvature.

using(1) and given data, -8 = (1.5-1)[ (1/R1) - (1/R2) ] ........................(2)

when the lens is kept in a liquid of refractive index, then effective refractive index becomes (1.5/1.6)

then we write eqn.(1) with new refractive index and modified power p as ,  P = [ (1.5/1.6) -1][ (1/R1) - (1/R2) ].........................(3)
dividing eqn.(3) by eqn.(2), we get,  begin mathsize 12px style fraction numerator P over denominator negative 8 end fraction space equals space fraction numerator begin display style bevelled fraction numerator negative 0.1 over denominator 1.6 end fraction end style over denominator 0.5 end fraction space equals space fraction numerator negative 1 over denominator 8 end fraction space space space o r space P space equals space 1 D end style
