Numericals:- A see-saw of length 4 N is supported at its center. A boy weighing 4 N sits at a distance of 1 M from the  see-saw .where should a girl weighing 2 N  sit (on the other side of the see-saw) so as to balance the weight of the  boy?

See-saw is an example of lever. 
 
We know that according to the principle of lever,
load  x load arm = effort x effort arm 
4 N x 1m = 2 N x effort arm
 
Thus, effort arm = 2 m
 
Hence, a girl must sit at a distance of 2 metre so that the see-saw will get balanced.
