Noise pollution is detrimental to human health and environment. It is because the effects of noise pollution are multifaceted and interrelated. High level of noise can cause cracks in national and archaeological monuments. A very high intensity of noise can cause cracks in hills. High intensity explosion can break glass panes and can cause vibrations in the building.
Noise pollution may harm the human health in the following ways:
- It may cause impairment of hearing and can cause sleep disruption.
- People are frequently subjected to high level of noise pollution may suffer from hypertension, depression and panic attacks.
- It may lead to the abnormal increase of heart beat and heart palpitation.
- It can also cause migraine headaches, nausea and dizziness.
