nichrome wire is used in an iron box..why?

Nichrome alloy(80% Nickel / 20% chromium) is ideal material for heater or iron box wire element because it has relatively high resistivity (1.5 × 10-6 ohm-m) and form an adherent layer of chromium oxide when it is heated for first time. This makes the nichrome wire a good corrosion resistant. Also melting point of nichrome is 1400°C
