One form of music and dance which developed during the Sultanate period was Qawwali and Kathak, respectively.

Qawwali was a form of chorus singing which was popularised by the Sufi saints. The songs were largely religious in nature.

Kathak was a dance which became popular in northern India during the Sultanate period. The dance had a Hindu theme with Persian costumes.
