- The king was an autocratic ruler who was worshipped as the representative of God on Earth.
- Provincial Government
- The empire was divided into six provinces known as ‘rajyas’ or ‘mandalas’.
- A governor was appointed for each of the provinces. He looked after maintenance of administration and law and order in his province.
