Measures to destroy mosquitoes:

(1) Spraying insecticides: Population of mosquitoes can be controlled by eliminating adult mosquitoes by spraying insecticides such as DDT on breeding grounds. Spraying on ponds and marshy places kills the life-history stages of the mosquito.

(2) Elimination of breeding places: Destruction of breeding places of mosquitoes must be done. Filling of ponds and puddles should be carried out.

(3) Biological control: Mosquito larvae are biologically controlled by releasing Gambusia fish in stagnant water. This fish multiplies rapidly and feeds voraciously on the larvae and pupae of mosquitoes.
