1. The king was powerful. However, his power depended on the strength of the army. The power of the king was also limited by influential nobles and the ulemas.
2. The kingdom was divided into provinces which were ruled by the governors appointed by the king.
3. The governors collected the revenues and supplied soldiers to the king at the time of need.
4. This enhanced the power and influence of the governors and they became extremely powerful.
