Inherited trait is a trait or character that is genetically inherited or passed down from generation to generation. Example – dimples, tongue rolling, earlobes as either attached or unattached

Acquired trait is a trait which an individual acquires during his/her life time and is not inherited. It may be an effect of the environment or of a somatic mutation. For example – a mouse who has lost its tail, a scar on face etc.
