Evolution is the process involved in the gradual development of living organisms from the simpler and earlier forms to more complex and diversified forms during the history of the earth.

Heredity is the passing on of traits genetically from one generation to another.

Inherited trait is a trait or character that is genetically inherited or passed down from generation to generation. Example dimples, tongue rolling, earlobes as either attached or unattached

Acquired trait is a trait which an individual acquires during his/her life time and is not inherited. It may be an effect of the environment or of a somatic mutation. For example a mouse who has lost its tail, a scar on face etc.
