From President Pranab Mukherjee to NASA, all came out with praise for ISRO after it successfully placed its Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) spacecraft in the Red Planet's orbit on the very first attempt. Mangalyaan travelled 650 million kilometres across space and successfully entered the Martian atmosphere on the September 24, 2014.

With the Mangalyaan experiment, India has become a member of the technically advanced nations of the world. The Space Commission Chairman says that every rupee spent on the mission benefits people all across India. According to experts, the mission’s main aim is to highlight India's budget space technology and hopefully grab a bigger share of the $300-billion global space market. MOM was built by a successful and skilled Indian aerospace establishment, carrying Indian-built instruments and operated out of Bangalore. NASA’s Deep Space Network helped in delivering Mars Orbiter Mission's messages to Earth. Youngsters across the country are ecstatic about India’s feat. A subject like Aerospace Engineering has received an impetus since students have started to witness its scope and potential. 

Many aspiring scientists and researchers have taken inspiration from MOM and hope to pursue their passion for heavenly bodies and develop it into a successful profession.
