mam,i dont understand the fact that though colloids are heterogeneous mixtures they seem to be homogeneous.

Colloids are a type of solution, in which the size of the solute particles is intermediate between solutions and suspensions. When observed through a high power microscope the particles in a colloid appear to be floating over the surface of the liquid. This shows that colloids are heterogeneous in nature though they appear to be homogeneous.
