2.   4x2-2(a2+b2)x+a2b2=0  divide whole eqn. by 4 we get    x2-(a2+b2)x /2 +a2b2 /4 =0

we can write the expression as (x - a2 / 2) (x - b2 /2) = 0  so we get roots of the above eqn. as x = a2 /2 , b2 / 2
