Refractive index is the ratio of speed of light in air/vacuum to that in a medium.

Therefore, the refractive index of the medium is

begin mathsize 12px style straight n equals straight c over straight v therefore straight n equals fraction numerator 3 cross times 10 to the power of 8 over denominator 1.5 cross times 10 to the power of 8 end fraction equals 2 end style
