Expert Answer
India has features of both federal and unitary principles. It is federal in form but unitary in spirit. Keeping in terms with federalism, India has both central and the state governments and both derive powers from the constitution of the country. But the country is unitary in spirit because the central government in India is much more powerful than the state governments. Also India has a single constitution whereas states in USA have their own constitutions.
