In fig., BO and CO are bisectors of DBC and ECB respectively. If BAC = 50o and ABC = 60o then find the measure of BOC.

By angle sum property in triangle ABC
50o + 60o + ACB = 180o
This gives, ACB = 180o - 110o = 70o
Now by exterior angle theorem,
DBC = A + ACB = 50o + 70o = 120o.
Therefore, OBC = DBC = 60o.
Again,
ECB = A + ABC = 50o + 60o = 110o.
Therefore, OCB = DBC = 55o.
By angle sum property in triangle OBC, we get
OBC + OCB + BOC = 180o
This gives, 60o + 55o + BOC = 180o
Or, BOC = 65o
