In block and tackle system the mechanical advantage increases with the increase of number of pulleys. GIVE REASON

If the total number of pulleys used in both block and tackle is n and the effort is applied in downward direction,
then the tension T in nsegments of rope supports the load.
Hence  Load W = n×T    and Effort E = T 
 
Mechanical advantage = M.A. = Load / Effort = W/E = (n×T) / T = n
 
where n is number of pulleys.
 
In figure, tension T in five segments of rope supports load W.
Hence,  W = 5 T ,   Effort E = T   and  Mechanical advantage  M.A. = W/E = (5 T ) / T = 5
