In an uniformly moving elevator with 1m/s, which is of 2m. A ball is allowed to freefall at 1.5 m with respect to elevator. Find the time at which the ball will just touch the floor of elevator.

For an observer outside the elevator, elevator is moving with speed 1 m/s .
If the observer is inside the elevator elevator is stationary with respect to him.
Hence free fall of the ball is subjected only to acceleration due to gravity.
Hence we use the equation " S = (1/2)gt2 " to find the time.
t = { 2S / g }1/2 = { 2 × 1.5 / 9.8 }1/2 = 0.55 s
