CBSE Class 12-science Answered
In an n-p-n transistor circuit, the collector circuit current is 10mA. If 90% of the electrons emitted reach the collector
(a) the emitter current will be 9mA
(b) the emitter current will be 11mA
(c) the base current will be 10mA
(d) the base current will be 0.1mA

Expert Answer
Given :- 90% of emitted electrons reach the collector;
hence 0.9 × Ie = Ic, where Ie and Ic are emitter and collector current respectively.
given Ic = 10 mA ; hence Ie = 10/0.9 = 11 mA
hence option (b) that "emitter current will be 11 mA " is the correct answer
