if you paint a dry leaf green, will it prepare its own food ? explain why

The leaf prepares its own food through the process of photosynthesis due to the presence of a green pigment called chlorophyll. The pigment is naturally present in the leaf. Hence, even if you paint a leaf green, it will not be able to prepare its own food since the pigment chlorophyll would still be absent in the leaf although the leaf would look green in colour.
