If we are sitting in the train and we have a ball, the train is running, we throw the ball into the air, then will the ball come in our hands or not?

Expert Answer
The thrown ball in the running train moving vertically due to its projection along vertical direction.
In addition to the vertical movement, the ball is also moving in horizontal direction due to running speed of train at the time of projection.
When the train is running with uniform speed, everything in the train is moving with uniform speed.
The person who is throwing the ball and sitting in the train , his hands and thrown ball all are moving with same speed in horizontal
direction. when the ball reaches downwards towards the hands of the man, horizontal displacement of hand and ball remains same
Hence the thrown ball reaches the hand as if the train is not moving and stationary.
