# If there is a ball which is floating on the surface of the bucket filled with water on earth , what will happen if we take the bucket to moon?

Answer:
Gravity on moon is about 1/6th of that on earth. The change in gravity will have no effect on the equilibrium of floating ball as weight of the ball and the upthrust acting on it will change by the same factor.
But, on earth, the weight of the ball is balanced by upthrust from water and air; while on moon, its weight is balanced by upthrust from water only (since moon has no atmosphere). So, on moon, the ball will sink a little more in water
