  1. The daily mean temperature is calculated by adding the maximum and minimum temperatures of the day and dividing the total by two.

Hence, daily mean temperature = 42°C + 21°C

                                              = 53°C/2

                                              = 26.5°C

  1. The diurnal range of temperature is the difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures of the day.

Hence, the diurnal range of temperature= 42°C - 21°C

                                                         = 21°C
