If the maximum temperature of a place in a given day is 420C and the minimum temperature is 210C, calculate its: Daily mean temperature. The diurnal range of temperature.

  1. Daily mean temperature is calculated by adding the maximum and minimum temperature of the day and dividing the total by two.

Hence, daily mean temperature= 420C + 210C

=530C/2 

= 26.50C

  1. The diurnal range of temperature is the difference between the maximum and minimum temperature of the day.

Hence, the diurnal range of temperature= 420C-210C

=210C
