if the distance of p{x,y} from a 8,2 and b -2,6 are equal prove that y = 2x

Distance between P(x,y) and A(8,2) = begin mathsize 12px style square root of open parentheses x minus 8 close parentheses squared plus open parentheses y minus 2 close parentheses squared end root end style ...........................(1)
Distance between P(x,y) and B(-2,6) = begin mathsize 12px style square root of open parentheses x plus 2 close parentheses squared plus open parentheses y minus 6 close parentheses squared end root space end style......................(2)
if both distances are equal then,
begin mathsize 12px style open parentheses x minus 8 close parentheses squared space plus space open parentheses y minus 2 close parentheses squared space equals space open parentheses x plus 2 close parentheses squared plus open parentheses y minus 6 close parentheses squared
x squared plus y squared minus 16 x space minus 4 y space plus space 68 space equals space x squared plus y squared plus 4 x space minus 12 y space plus 40

Solution is not cmoing as y = 2x as given in the question, but y = (7-5x)/2
